This paper demonstrates that out-of-class English learning is one of the effective pedagogies for developing autonomous learners. The out-of-class English learning is designed for all the students who enroll in English A and English B in 2021 academic year to acquire English reading skills through the CEFR-J based textbook, and it also employs planned scaffolding for learners to foster the degree of understanding and acquisition of grammatical, syntactic, … and lexical knowledge, so that they can be autonomous English learners. The quantitative survey reveals that the out-of-class English learning shows statisticallysignificant difference in learners’ attitude and motivation. 続きを見る
