概要:
This paper investigates why local councils do not improve the women’s working environment. One of the reasons is that th

ere is a low percentage of women local councilors. In order to evaluate the working environment, we introduced an indicator which reflects (1) the availability of childcare facilities, (2) the availability of breastfeeding rooms, and (3) the implementation of sexual harassment training. The indicator revealed that the percentage of women councilors in the municipalities with populations of more than 500,000 and populations from 100,000 to 300,000 positively affected their working environment. The low percentage of women in councils is hindering the improvement of the working environment and is also related to the lack of improvement of the women’s working environment in society.

ll show how they used them. The quotation of extra-vocalizations and episodes is assumed to be a characteristic of politicians’ unique way of speaking and is used to obtain the attention of the audience and increase their persuasiveness. Four interviews were used to analyze the use of rhetoric in 110 responses, with 33 (30.0%) quoting extra-vocalizations and 16 (14.5%) talking about the episode. The analysis revealed that regard to the quoting extra-vocalizations, the ruling party members use it as a reinforcement of their statements, while opposition members use it as a contrast of the hostile statements. Analysis results showed that when talking about an episode, there are those that simply talk about their own experiences and contribute to a smooth interview and those that quote and critique others’ statements at the same time as the episode. By revealing the way political rhetoric is used, viewers will be able to carefully listen to the politicians’ story without being misled by political rhetoric.

概要:
This paper reveals that Japanese National Diet members including coalition parties’ members and opposition parties’ memb

ers, local level politicians, and nonpoliticians provide different type of information during televised political interviews. The study at the center of this paper indicates that different types of questions by interviewers result in different type of information from interviewees. In modern post-truth politics, it is crucial for politicians to provide information to the general public. In particular, it is important of decision-makers to transfer high-quality information to voters and other citizens. The results of this study show that coalition parties’ members and nonpoliticians tend to provide more technical information during political interviews. Additionally, interrogative-word questions, those that start with the words “what,” “why,” “who,” “when,” “where,” or “how” are most likely to elicit technical information from interviewees. The study suggests that broadcast political interviews can provide useful information for voters especially during election campaigns.

概要:

kers, and the communication supported by the legislative body with residence. Legislative reforms are spreading in Japan based on the situation within the prefectures, and bring about positive results encouraging citizen’s participation. Local legislative reforms should be advanced based on the awareness that these are means and not the goal. Local legislatures, as representative bodies, are expected to form better decentralization in cooperation with their residents.
